Questions riders ask
Who can ride DCT?
Anyone. DCT is a public transit system, and every service is open to the general public.
Can DCT carry my wheelchair?
Yes. Our vehicles have wheelchair lifts that hold up to 800 pounds including the rider, on a 48 by 34 inch platform. Mobility devices larger than that can’t be carried safely.
Do I have to book ahead?
Not for FLEX. You can book FLEX the same day. Demand Response needs a booking by noon the business day before, up to two weeks ahead.
What if I don’t need my ride anymore?
Please cancel at least one hour before your pickup. Missed trips cost every taxpayer, and repeated no-shows can lead to a suspension of service.
Can someone ride with me to help?
Yes. Riders who need a personal care attendant can apply to be certified, and one approved attendant rides free. Call 740-363-3355 for the application.
Do kids need a car seat?
It is not required, but we encourage car seats and seat belts. If you bring a car seat, you will need to secure it yourself; drivers can’t help install it.
Does DCT go to the Columbus airport?
No. COTA serves the airport, and you can connect to COTA on Sancus Road. DCT and COTA accept each other’s transfers.
Who governs DCT?
A seven-member board appointed by the Delaware County Commissioners under Ohio Revised Code section 306. The board meets monthly and the public is welcome.
