About DCT

Public transit owned by Delaware County

Delaware County Transit is owned by the people of Delaware County and governed by a public board. We are becoming the Delaware County Regional Transit Authority (DCRTA) as the county grows.

Who we are

We meet the transportation needs of everyone in Delaware County, with a special focus on older adults and riders with disabilities. Our riders include students, workers, veterans and families heading to school, jobs, appointments and errands.

DCT is funded in part by the Federal Transit Administration, the Ohio Department of Transportation and SourcePoint, along with fares, contracts and local partnerships.

November 3, 2026 ballot

The transit sales tax: the facts

Delaware County voters will decide on a continuing 0.2% sales and use tax for public transit. It is not a property tax. It applies only to purchases that already carry Ohio sales tax, which leaves out groceries, gasoline, utilities and prescription drugs.

On a taxable $100 purchase, the tax would be 20 cents. Parts of Columbus, Dublin and Westerville that already pay the COTA sales tax would not vote on it.

Early voting begins October 6. For registration, polling places and the official ballot language, contact the Delaware County Board of Elections.

If approved, the DCRTA service plan calls for

  • Run FLEX in the City of Delaware seven days a week
  • Expand FLEX microtransit across Orange Township
  • Start microtransit in Powell and Liberty Township
  • Buy and maintain more van-style transit vehicles
  • Launch same-day Demand Response countywide
  • Plan commuter or express service as the county grows

Changes would roll out in phases based on demand, funding, staffing, vehicles and board approval. If the tax does not pass, DCRTA would keep running on grants, contracts, fares and partnerships, without these expansions.
